Service Description

*Disclaimer* If you are interested in auditioning for the team please read this description first before filling out the Inquiry Form online. The age requirement is 10 - 17 years old, but if someone is experienced at the young age of 8 or 9 they may try out as well. Also, there is a $5 registration fee for auditioning. Payment will be received at the door. Auditions take place at Simply Ballroom Dance Studio at 3549 Courthouse Rd, Richmond, VA 23236 on 10/13/24 from 3:00-4:30 pm EST. All dancers need to prepare a 30-second to 1-minute routine as a solo in any dance genre. The schedule for our dancers is mandatory. Practices begin 10/20/24, and we will meet weekly on Sundays from 2:30-5:00 pm and additionally on Tuesdays from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Closer to competitions there may be more rehearsals, but that is dependent on the circumstances. If any interested participants cannot make the mandatory classes/rehearsals please contact me to discuss an alternative solution. Classes/Rehearsals will focus on strengthening, conditioning, and performance techniques within the genres of contemporary, ballet, and jazz. For regional competitions, we plan to compete in each lyrical division, so as a team, our strengths need to be emotion(availability to connect with the audience), strength, and connectivity within our team to tell a story.
